Bushveld Mosica Time Table For 2006
Training Methods
To ensure quality tuition all modules will be conducted by professionals acknowledged in their specific fields of expertise. Assistance of a more practical nature will be given by NWP&TB appointees or other suitably-qualified training personnel.
The accent throughout the course will be on maximum student participation, in the "outdoor classroom". With this in mind, most training will be preceded by a short introductory lecture followed by practical training in the field, in either Borakalalo or Pilanesberg National Parks. Certain subjects, however, require visits to outside institutions.
Although the course consists of a different module each month, the entire Bushveld Mosaic program is structured around ecological principles, which permeate into every subject. Students are encouraged to integrate what they have learned in one module with what has been learned in the others, in order to develop a holistic overview of the environmental conservation picture.
Bushveld Mosiac Course material is provided at the beginning of the year. In order to maximise use of the time available over training weekend, course participants should find time to prepare adequately for the next module. It is strongly recommended that course participants take notes during the lectures AND in the field as question asked in test could stem from both sources. Additional reading will be required to complete the assignments as well as time spent in the field researching the ecosystems allocated.
The Curriculum subject, present in the next section, are linked to the specific outcomes in order to fulfill the requirements as detailed by Theta for individual Unit Standards.
Currently the course is being prepared for accreditation by the Tourism, Hospitality & Sport Education & Training Authorities. The Bushveld Mosaic Course provides theoretical instructions for the completion of Unit Codes TG 08, 11, 12, 17 as well as the theoretical requirements for TG 10, 14 and 15. The above-mentioned units are required in order to complete the elective section of:![]() |
