We normally reserve the Bushveld Mosaic website news for our module “Feedback” reports but am posting this time to promote a cause that we feel merits a mention.
Bushveld Mosaic is delighted to support an exciting new venture by our good friend and one of our outstanding lecturers, Dr Ian Engelbrecht!
Ian is embarking on an ambitious project to write and publish a comprehensive book on the scorpions of Namibia, building on the success of his highly regarded Field Guide to Scorpions of South Africa.
If you have seen the South African field guide, you will appreciate the knowledge, expertise and passion that Ian brings to his work. We have every confidence that his new book on Namibia’s scorpions will be an equally valuable contribution to our understanding of these fascinating, often misunderstood creatures — and, as Ian himself suggests, it promises to be even better!
How can you help?
Ian is crowdfunding the project, and your support will help make this exciting publication a reality. There are a variety of rewards available, including the opportunity to pre-order the book and have your name included in it as a supporter.

At Bushveld Mosaic, we are proud to support people who share our passion for environmental education and the natural world. We encourage our friends, students, former students and fellow nature enthusiasts to explore this project and support Ian if they can.
Let’s help bring Namibia’s scorpions the book they deserve!
